The goal of World Philosophy Day is to celebrate philosophical reflection and heritage, as well as to promote new ideas and public debate to create better civil society. Reasoned thinking fosters better understanding and open dialogue in local, national and international level. The power of philosophy extents in every aspect of our lives and challenges us to form questions of the issues that matter. World Philosophy Day is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) initiative that has been celebrated since 2002. Every third Thursday of November, various events around the world invite people to join rational discussion and philosophical debate.
