On October 24, World Development Information Day was designated as an opportunity to draw the attention of the world to developmental challenges, and to raise awareness of the need for international awareness and cooperation to help overcome them. The goal of this day is to "improve the dissemination of information and the mobilization of public opinion, particularly among young people." This would lead to greater awareness of the problems of development and emphasis that lasting international security is possible only if the economic and social well-being of people everywhere is assured. Nearly every group in the UN family focuses on some aspect of development, united by the United Nations Development Group. Help Inform others and Inspire them to act towards greater awareness of the developmental problems facing the world - youth can be the catalyst that helps further international cooperation for development!
