World Cancer Day

World Cancer day takes place on the 4th of February every year! The aim of the day is to avoid millions of preventable deaths through dismissing common misconceptions about the disease along with promoting awareness of proper prevention, detection and treatments. The day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and is aligned with carrying out the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, "a consensus between government officials, public health experts and cancer advocates from around the world who are committed to eliminating cancer as a life-threatening disease for future generations" (UICC).
