Week of Solidarity With Peoples of Non Selfgoverning territories

In the UN Charter, a non-autonomous territory is defined as an area "whose people have not yet attained to the full self-government." These territories should take effective measures to safeguard and guarantee the inalienable rights of its people, their natural resources and to establish and maintain control over the future development of those resources measures. This week also encourages the support of nations to take all measures necessary to protect the property rights of the peoples of the territories. This includes the moral and material assistance.
