International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
On November 29 1947, Palestine was officially partitioned by the UN General Assembly in order to establish an “Arab state” and a “Jewish state”. So far, only one has been established and the 8 million Palestinian people live primarily in territories governed by Israel. The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a chance for the world to recognize the fact that the Palestinian people have yet to attain a true measure of self-governance, and that we should all aspire to positive and peaceful measures of support for a resolution in the region. Let’s turn solidarity into momentum for a mutually respectful dialogue, and a resolution to the question of Palestine.
