Juni 12: World Day Against Child Labour |
World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL)is observed worldwide to raise awareness to the growing worldwide movement against child labour. More than 200 million children in the world today are involved in child labour, doing work that is damaging to his or her mental, physical and emotional development. Children work because their survival and that of their families depend on it. Child labour persists even where it has been declared illegal.
This year the specific focus of WDACL is on the elimination of child labour in agriculture, which accounts for a large percentage of the world’s working children and is one of the most dangerous forms of work for children.
