World Health Day is celebrated each year on April 7, which marks the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO). It is an occasion to raise awareness of key global health issues. This year’s theme is international health security. The aim of the Day is to urge governments, organizations and businesses to invest in health for the building of a safer future.

The focus for World Health Day 2008 is the relationship between climate change and world health issues. Climate change is affecting the spread of disease, extreme weather patterns, and water scarcity. Many of the causes of climate change are also health risks, like deforestation and pollution.
